Wall Art- The Resist Series

I work a lot with textiles and I am interested in how different countries have different textile traditions.

There is one that is common to many countries all over the world and that is resist dyed cloth also known as tie dye or batik.

The wonderful thing about resist dyeing is that the final results are always unique. On the cloth, the exact same pattern can never be replicated the way machine printed fabric can.

Wax resist is the most unpredictable due to the way wax melts and I love the way the melted wax creates its very own landscape on the cloth.

I've been exploring these landscapes through digital collaging culminating in the Resist series of Wall Prints. 

These are available as Giclee printed prints on Hahnemühle textured paper. These pieces look at texture, layering and contrast.
